Envelopes

Hello dumplings, I have a question for you and you can answer in the comment section.  How many ways can you use an envelope?  Are they only for letters or cards? Do envelopes have a vast number of uses? The reason I ask is I have an Envelope Punchboard that hardly ever gets used to make envelopes for cards or letters.  I’ve used it to make boxes, tiny handbags even tea cups.  Truth be told even when I’ve made an envelope it wasn’t for a card or letter. For example today’s little project is a 3 x 3 envelope, but not for a 3 x 3 card.

Before I retired I liked to give my coworkers, well some of them, a little treat, a small just because, I was thinking of you treat. Nothing over the top maybe a Ghirardelli square. However something that small can get lost in a person’s box in the mailroom. Which means you have to make it stand out. The perfect way to do that is with bright designer series paper and your envelope punchboard.

Today’s treat is a small Russell Stover’s peppermint pattie. First I measure the candy and decided a 3 x 3 envelope was the best size. Then I trimmed a piece of dsp to 5 1/4 x 5 1/4.

I punched and scored as indicated on the punchboard, using it couldn’t be easier.

I rounded the four corners (the punchboard has a built in corner rounder) and then burnished my score lines. I used glue dots to adhere the sides and bottom of the envelope. Then I slipped the candy inside.

While the envelope is cute, it needed a little something. So I used two of the dies from from the Layering Circles Framelits dies and sentiments from the Tabs for Everything stamp set to make an embellishment.

Here’s the finished product. Wouldn’t you love to find this little thumbs up on your desk or in your office mailbox?

I know I would and I know little things like this can bring big smiles to those around you.
