I Think It’s Fall

Happy Monday dumplings. I’m going to share an observation / revelation that I had yesterday. When I got up Sunday morning and dealt with my morning routine I thought it looked a little overcast.  What I discovered when I took Uma outside to deal with nature’s call I discovered what was really happening. Summer was finally getting shown the door and Fall was moving in. Now try as he might and I must say Summer has been fighting his eviction for a bit, I mean we’ve had July temperatures in October. He just can’t take a hint. The truth is Miss Hammie is quite fond of Summer and really hates when he departs, but at this rate we’ll be sleeveless at Thanksgiving dinner. I mean as they keep reminding me on the various TV shopping channels Christmas is only 10 weeks away. Certain temperatures are unusual 10 weeks before especially the high 80’s.

However Fall seems determined and she inspired my card.

I used Kraft cardstock for my card base. I added a layer of Old Olive and a layer of Crushed Curry. I embellished the Crushed Curry layer with leaves in Fresh Fig, Old Olive and Real Red that I cut out using the large and small solid leaf dies from the Seasonal Layers thinlits. The sentiment was stamped in Old Olive ink on an oval of Whisper White that I cut out with a die from the Stitched Shapes framelits.

I think for a Monday card it turned out well and I have a feeling, whether you leave a comment or not ( hint hint) that you feel the same.

There are new things a brewing in Stampin’ Up  Land. If you love Stampin’ Up colors, but you also love alcohol markers , well let’s just say you’re going to be some happy Stampin’ Up color loving stampers soon. That’s right dumplings Stampin’ Up alcohol markers in those colors you love that coordinate so well with out cardstock and dsp. Miss Hammie is betting her dumplings are doing a happy dance right about now with that news.

If you didn’t take heed when Miss Hammie practically begged you to sign up and get the October Paper Pumpkin kit, be glad it’s impossible for you to do more than wish you could kick yourself. I’ve seen it and I’m going to share it with you this week. There is still time to sign-up and get the coordinating November kit and there maybe refills for the October kit that you could purchase.

The Designer Series Paper 4 for the price of 3 is still going strong so don’t miss out on that.

Also don’t miss out on the opportunity to own the Merry Patterns stamp set. Simply place a qualifying order of $300.00 or more. It can be an individual order, a workshop order held in your home or online or you and a few friends can combine several smaller orders. Considering it’s time to make holiday cards, gift tags and holiday home decor a $300.00 shouldn’t be hard to put together if say you and 3 friends combined your holiday supplies lists.

Both the Designer Series Paper Sale and your chance to earn the Merry Patterns stamp set end on October 31st. The clock is tick tocking dumplings so don’t let time run out.

Before I say TTFN, I just realized something. Earlier in this post I mentioned Uma , which is short for Umami which is too long a story to share today, except to say I always get sort of outvoted when naming the fur kids.  Uma found her way into my life via a trip to the Atlanta Humane Society. She had the saddest, most soulful eyes that seemed to follow me. To be honest Miss Hammie didn’t even go there looking to adopt any of the furry ones. One thing led to another and I was walking out with a dog. Anywho if I’m going to discuss her I decided you should have a visual. As you can tell she hasn’t missed a meal, her own or mine, since she joined the family.
