Happy Friday dumplings. Well we Royals have passed the half-way point in our team challenge. If it was a race, not that Miss Hammie is athletic in any way, shape or form, we’ve rounded the turn or whatever runners do. We have seven more days if you include today. Now on to today’s project. I’m sure you’re wondering about the name of today’s blog post. No today’s project isn’t an homage to the great Little Richard. It’s the name of the suite I pulled quite a few of the elements that I used in this card from. I’ll be honest with you dumplings this card was a real bear. I used two stamp sets, dies from two different sets, dsp and 3 different colors of cardstock. If I hadn’t already gotten a really short haircut I probably would have pulled a few strands out. As it is I’m positive I’ve gotten several gray hairs courtesy of this card, but it was worth it. I love it, as did my team mates so I’m sharing it with you my dear dumplings. So prepare yourselves for awesomeness.
As you can see I didn’t exaggerate, she’s a beauty. The 51/2” x 81/2” card base is Real Red cardstock. I scored it at 41/4”. I layered a piece of dsp from the Tutti-Frutti dsp pack that I trimmed to 5” x 33/4” onto the card base. Then I started stamping. The jar is from the Everyday Jars stamp set and it was stamped in Pool Party ink and I have to admit this part was a little tricky. I knew I wanted a straw in the jar, a little Southern flavor, but a jar is clear. Long taxing story short, Using Whisper White cardstock I used the straw die from Bottles and Bubbles framelit dies and cut out the straw, used the un-inked Mason jar stamp from the Everyday Jars stamp set to determine where the straw should be, and using the Fine Tip Glue, glued the straw into position and stamped the jar over it. I cut the jar out using the coordinating die. Then used another stamp from that set and Powder Pink ink to stamp the strawberry water. The strawberries were stamped in Real Red ink with Emerald Envy ink used for the stems. Once I laid it out it looked incomplete, so I added a 21/2” x 21/2” square of pool party behind the jar and it looked more balanced to me. I attached the square with Snail adhesive and then used dimensionals to attach the jar. The sentiment is from the Fruit Basket stamp set as are the strawberries. I stamped it in Real Red on Whisper White cardstock and cut it and the Real Red banner it’s mounted on using the Duet Banner Punch. I attached it with dimensionals. And voila that’s my card for today. I love it, you’ll like it and leave a comment. That’s not a request dumplings
Tomorrow is business Saturday which I’ll probably write today because unless I’m mistaken there’s a pop-up sale tomorrow that I don’t want to miss.
One last thing, truly because I need to feed the dog before she digs her way to freedom and a new owner.
If you’re in the United States and have ever considered joining now’s the time. Stampin’ Up gives extra perks during Sale-a-Bration and you are truly under no obligation to stay on if after a month or two you decide it’s not for you. You pay $99.00 and get to order $125.00 worth of products, there’s no shipping and handling on the starter kit, you get to pick 2 additional stamp set of any price. Finally the best part demonstrators get a 20% discount on any orders placed after your initial starter kit order. I would love having you on my team. Email me and we can connect and discuss it. If you’re ready now use the Join My Team link below and sign up online. The whole selling thing a little intimidating? Over 90% of demonstrators don’t really do the whole selling to large groups they joined, like Miss Hammie did “For the discount”. I discovered I like sharing the products with others, but no one at Stampin’ Up said I had to sell.
Well that’s it for today dumplings, for reals this time. Soooo
