May InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Hi, it has been quite a while since I participated in one of the Blog Hops, but sometimes you just need to take a break, so I did. Now that we have chased the elephant out of the room lets talk about the Hop. This year the Royals decided to center the themes for our monthly Blog Hop around Stamping Favorites. This month’s theme is Travel and Transportation. Now if I was half as snarky as some people think I am I could make some pretty snarky remarks about travel couldn’t I? Well actually I am, but because I am also basically kind hearted I won’t … except in my head, lol.

Normally when I hear the word TRANSPORTATION I think highways and “big rigs”and when it comes to cards I’m afraid I come up empty. However TRAVEL, now I can work with that. I decided to try a theme based on a day trip that I have really wanted to take for some time. Perhaps this will be the year that I am able to talky sister into going to North Georgia in autumn to see the trees. It’s suppose to be spectacular. Don’t misunderstand we get some some color here in Atlanta that are beautiful. I actually live in an area with some magnificent old trees that are decades old and in autumn the picture they paint is glorious. However just once I want to go to the mountains, before you jump to conclusions when it comes to camping we just say no. As I was saying I want to go to the mountains and see the trees. So my card is an homage to the colts of autumn.

Autumn in the Mountains

The stamp set I used was Beauty of Friendship along with the coordinating Beautiful Trees dies and the Bark 3-D Embossing folder. My card base is made with Cinnamon Cider. I added two layers the first is in Bubble bee card stock and the second was made with Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper. I added a single tree using the Beautiful Trees dies. The body of the tree was made with Cinnamon Cider card stock that I embossed with the Bark embossing folder. The canopy is created with Bubble Bee card stock. I popped the tree up with Stamping dimensional and attached the canopy with liquid glue.
