Welcome to InKing Royalty’s November Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by popular songs – this month’s song is “We are Family.” As you might guess, our Blog Hop today is filled with projects that are inspired by family – we have a wide variety of projects today! We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Hello my sweet honey dumplings the theme for this month Blog Hop is “We are Family” . I remember when they would play that song almost everywhere and everyone would get up and dance. For me family is about giving and sharing. Three things always remind me of family Thanksgiving, Christmas and Birthdays. I had a really difficult time deciding what type of card to make, in fact I actually made two.
The first card I made using some of that yummy new gingham dsp that will be available in the Occasions catalog. I chose the Lemon Lime Twist color. I made a standard cardbase from LLT cardstock to which I added first a layer of Whisper White cardstock and then the gingham dsp. As an accent I used a piece of the new Flax ribbon. The stamp set I used was Beautiful You from the Annual catalog. Since my younger sister has a birthday next month and the sort of Mad Man vibe I get from that stamp set is perfect for her I know exactly which card will accompany her gift.
The second card I made was Christmas themed. I have to admit November, even the last week, is a tad early for me. I like to be fully recovered from my Thanksgiving food coma before I move on to the grand daddy of all holidays, Christmas. However I digress, for this card I made a standard cardbase from Night of Navy cardstock. I added a layer of Silver Foil paper. I had attached a large Whisper White oval that I made using one of the Layering Ovals dies to the center of the Silver Foil. To opposite corners I added accents also made from Whisper White cardstock and dies from the Detailed Deer Thinlits dies. Using both Crumb Cake ink and cardstock I stamped the two small deers in the Dashing Deer Stampin set and cut them out using the corresponding dies. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals I placed the deers inside the large oval. I added a simple sentiment from the Snow is Glistening stamp set. I stamped it on Whisper White cardstock then cut it out with a small oval die with the next size die I cut out a Night of Navy oval to mount it on using Mini glue dots. That was added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
