Hi there crafters, it Friday and the end of Punch Board Week. Today’s project was created using the Stampin’ Up Envelope Punch Board. I case’d a project by Stampin’ Up demonstrator Linda Parker. Her YouTube channel is Papercrafts with Crafty which is also the name of her blog.
The project is a mug that can be used to hold treats like Lindt’s Lindor Truffles, Mini- Ghirardelli squares. The mug is large enough to hold several K-cups of coffee, tea or hot chocolate as a Secret Santa or Appreciation Day gift.
As you know Miss Hammie was a teacher and I think this would be a lovely Teacher Appreciation Week treat holder. Where Miss Hammie worked we received a small token Monday – Thursday and something like a gift card on Friday from the PTA during Teacher Appreciation Week.
To make the mug you need a piece of cardstock that measures 9 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches that is scored in the landscape position at 1 1/2, 3, 4 1/2, 6,
7 1/2 and 9. In the portrait position the cardstock is scored at 1 1/2 and 5 1/4. To decorate the panels of the mug you need six pieces of dsp cut to 3 x 1 1/4.
For my mug I used Real Red cardstock and a piece of dsp from the Quilted Christmas paper stack.
I know you’re asking yourself ” Where does the envelope punch board figure into this project?” To get that curved bottom you have to use the punch board. Here are the steps to create the mug.
Once you have used the Stampin’ Up Simply Score board you need to fold and burnish on the score lines. Remove the skinny rectange located on top right side.
Next fold on the vertical score lines and punch
Apply Stampin’ Up Tear ‘n Tape
Cut along the vertical score lines up to the horizontal score line.
Fold the top over
Insert the tab into the opening and join the two sides. Turn the mug over and adhere the tabs that are opposite each other together. Finally make a handle for the mug. I used the layering circles to make mine. I attached the handle to the body of the mug using mini-glue dots.
I would like for you to try this project it’s fun and simple to do and the person you give it to will love it.
Now it’s business time.
I’ve told you about the Merry Patterns promotion from Stampin’ Up. Place a qualifying order of $300.00 or more and you’ll receive the Merry Patterns stamp set. This offer is good up until October 31st. There are several ways that you can reach $300.00 or more. If you have a wish list like mine just submit a customer order. You can have your demonstrator hold a workshop in your home and invite your friends or do an online event with you as the hostess. There are lots of possibilities as far as reaching $300.00.
The other big news from Stampin’ Up is the coordinating Paper Pumpkin kits. That’s right coordinating kits! The October and November kits are Christmas themed and a little birdie says that they’ll give you a big jump on your card and gift giving needs. I know I’m not going to miss them and I, in my authoritative Miss Hammie voice, am saying you shouldn’t miss this opportunity either.
Last bit of business if while perusing your copy of the Holiday or Annual catalog decide to place an order remember to use my September hostess code ZDH4DXYP.
Finally have an awesome first weekend of Fall and I’ll see you on Monday.
What a great post, Robbye! I feel like I just sat with you to make this fun treat holder. ❤

Miss Hammie, I was a hobby demonstrator on and off for about 10 years. I do recognize the BIG names! 😉 I am glad you have such a friend!

I am very lucky, Brian is such a great guy. I’m a hobbyist trying to transition and I have to say meeting members of SU royalty still leaves me tongue tied.
