Gee is that a Z

Hi crafters, I decided to do some fun cards this week. Please don’t misunderstand I think all my cards are fun, but I’m trying to keep it interesting for you. That’s Miss Hammie’s selfless side coming through. Actually that was Miss Hammie’s snarky side coming through, but I really do want this to be an interesting as well as informative place for you to pop into three times a week. That being said I’ve decided to do “Z-cards” this week.  I think they’re interesting, fairly simple to make and theyre different from a basic 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 card.

Today’s card is a basic “Z- fold” card, my cards on Wednesday and Friday will be variations on the theme.

Here are the products I used to make my card.

Lemon Lime Twist and Whisper White  cardstock, a piece of DSP from the Fresh Florals pack, the Layering Circles framelits dies, Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive ink pads, Snail adhesive, Stampin’ dimensionals, the Big Shot and the Painted Harvest stamp set.

While Miss Hammie was an “EE”, Educator Extraordinaire, I will admit that “PE”or Photographer Extraordinaire is not listed on my resume. However I did attempt to capture a shot that explains why this is called a “Z- card”.

I’ve decided to wait until Friday to walk you through the construction of “Z-cards” and  I’ll explain why. Miss Hammie never remembers to take photos as she’s making a card. When I post photos of the steps, it’s a second card that I make simply to show you how to make the card. Soooo, remember I said the Wednesday and Friday cards will be variations of a basic “Z-card”, I’ll take pictures and bah da bim, bah da boom, 3 cards with one set of pictures.  Now on to business.

Its getting close to the Fall and Winter holidays in fact if you go in the stores you would think Christmas was next week rather than summer just ending Friday. This rush to sell for Christmas really bothers Miss Hammie. I like Christmas, I understand its significance and who doesn’t like presents okaaay.  That being said Miss Hammie’s favorite holiday is Thanksgiving when the whole family tends to get together. However I digress, it’s time for business not  soap box.  I was going to say that it is the perfect time to order the supplies you need to make your holiday, Christmas and Thanksgiving, cards. So gather several, or more, of your crafting friends together peruse the Holiday catalog and place one order for all of you. That should easily come to $300.00 or more which you and I know qualifies you to get the beautiful Merry Patterns stamp set. I won’t tell if you don’t, lol. You could also do a Facebook party, that way you don’t have to even buy snacks.  I’m kidding I know how much you like getting together with your friends to craft. Once the order arrives you could even have them over and you could make your cards together.

Next order of business is the Paper Pumpkin promotion. For the first time coordinating kits that give you a head start on Christmas cards and gift giving. The October and November kits are coordinating kits that will also work as stand alones. Simply subscribe to Paper Pumpkin no later than October 10th. I’m not going to miss this and I don’t want you to either.

Well that’s all for today kiddos, take care, have fun and I’ll see you on Wednesday.
