What a Weekend

This past weekend was so awesome! My uplines Brian King and Pam Morris hold a special World Card Making Day event each year and they just keep getting bigger and better.  There are games, make and takes and give-aways plus you get to hang out with people from all over the country and craft.

I really enjoy this event because I get to see friends that I’m unable to see on a regular basis. I turn into a virtual hugging machine, getting hugs and giving hugs.  I truly don’t have the words to describe how much fun this event is. I encourage you to watch out for announcements for this event in 2018 and to participate,  you truly won’t regret it.

The weekend started on Friday night with a meet and mingle dinner at Maggiano’s. Great food, great company lots of laughs and smiles. Then on to the main event on Saturday. Registration started at 8:30am, dumplings let me just say Miss Hammie hasn’t been up that early on a Saturday in hmmm, decades.  However for Brian and Pam and to see my Stampin’ Up family I sacrificed a few hours sleep. I think we spent the first 45 minutes going Heyyyy and Look at you.  Pretty soon it’s like the time apart ceases to exist and it feels like we stamp together every weekend.

Another fun part are the presentations. I can’t speak for everyone but I learn so much from each of the presenters. That’s the good part, the not wonderful part is they always seem to share projects using products that I’ve previously convinced myself I don’t really need. Then they convince me I do. Oh well I get to make really pretty cards and 3-D projects.

I decided to share some photos from this weekend rather than a new project. I hope you enjoy them.

First here’s my card for the card swap

I decided to go with an autumnal theme. I used the Painted Harvest stamp set, Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Whisper White cardstock. My stamping was done with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Old Olive ink.

There was also a 3-D project exchange. I case’d Linda Parker’s coffee mug and used Old Olive cardstock embellished with dsp from the Quilted Christmas dsp stack.

You can see it on the table where the projects were displayed (I forgot to take a photo before the event).

We received such great give aways and here are a few.

And what’s any event without a “Selfie Frame”.

Stampin’ Up has brought so much more than great crafting products into my life. It’s given me an outlet for my love of paper crafting and great people to craft with.  I can not wait for World Card Making Day 2018.

Now on to business.
