Hello my sweet dumplings and a Merry Monday to each and everyone. As you all know I attended OnStage Atlanta last weekend and I was able to see and play with quite a few new coming in June Stampin’ Up products. What you may not know and not because I didn’t tell you, demonstrators like myself get to not only see products early we get to order products early. The card I’m sharing today was made primarily with new products. The sentiment is from the Detailed With Love stamp set that will be available on June 1st. I stamped it in Tranquil Tide ink. The card base is from Tranquil Tide cardstock. Both of those the ink pad and the card stock are available now. However if you check the “Retiring Products List” you’ll see the Tranquil Tide ink pad, and reinker on the list. I’ll explain that at the end of this post. Now back to today’s card. I layered a piece of dsp from the Nature’s Poem dsp pack on to the card base. The dsp is accented with a piece of Grapefruit Grove twine from the Nature’s Twine pack which along with the dsp will also be available on June 1st. I cut out the sentiment using a die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies set. I cut out two additional ovals, one in Whisper White and the other in Tranquil Tide. The ovals were layered using snail. I adhered this to the dsp using dimensionals. To add just a final embellishment I added two tiny pearls to the layer with the sentiment. The pearls are from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls pack, this will also be available on June 1st.
Now about the ink pad, I blogged on Saturday about the color revamp that Stampin’ Up did. What I may not have mentioned is that the design of our ink pads has changed. It’s the same width, but it’s a tad shorter and it opens like a compact. Also while the colors are the same a defoamer has been added to the ink to prevent that bubbling of the ink that sometimes happens. Stampin’ Up will continue to sell the old ink pads for a little while longer. However after I believe May 31st they poof gone away for good. So that’s why they’re on the Retiring Products List. Now Basic Black Archival and Basic Gray Archival are “really” Retiring, they’re gone bye bye and it’s not about the ink pad case.
You can access the Retiring Products List vía my Online Store link.
