Happy Friday dumplings, I have another card to share with you today. It’s not a fun fold, though it’s just your regular 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch card. You’re probably wondering why I called this post “Back to the Stash”. Miss Hammie has quite a lot of cardstock and dsp in her craft room. Some of it I’ve used so much I recognize it easily others, well not so much. Today’s card has one of those not so much pieces of cardstock. I believe it’s Pacific Point, but it might not be. Either way it’s really playing nicely with the Smoky Slate cardstock and Midnight Muse ink. It’s also a great background for Whisper White cardstock.
I used the Ribbon of Courage stamp set for all my stamping, the sentiments and the hearts. It’s a great stamp set and if you don’t own it and the coordinating framelits you should really check them out. If you purchase them together as a bundle you save 10%.
Now there was another reason for making this card a team mate of mine made a request of all the stampers she knows to help shower a young man who is facing another of multiple surgeries he has had to have with cards. This isn’t someone she knows, she read his story and was touched by the knowledge of what he has endured and must continue to endure. She’s someone I can’t say no to. I mentioned my grand nephew, I call him my Beautiful Boy, in a Facebook comment. I have no idea how she picked up on how special he is to me, but she did and we’ve been close ever since. And making a card for this brave young man was no chore, in fact I’ll probably make more.
So here it is and after you take a gander (a look, not a goose) I have big news to share.
The card base is Smoky Slate. I layered Whisper White on Pacific Point (maybe) and adhered it to my card base. I stamped the sentiment and the hearts from Ribbon of Courage in Midnight Muse. I’m pleased with it, or as much as I’m pleased with my cards. Confession I ALWAYS feel like they could be better. Ok on to Big news, big, huge.
Do you like to use alcohol markers? I enjoy using them, but I found the best markers or the ones everyone suggested I try a tad expensive. That being said I didn’t purchase a lot of them. But, forget those because Stampin’ Up has new alcohol markers called Blends and they will be available for you to purchase in color duos, a light and a dark, on November 1st. To celebrate this Stampin’ Up is giving 101 winners Stampin’ Blends. A grand prize winner will get the complete collection and 100 other winners will received one duo, that’s a light and a dark, of one of the 12 colors the Blends will be available in. All the information about the contest is available on Stampin’ Up’s Facebook page. Go check it out.
Let’s not forget the other fantastic promotions that are still going on.
Merry Patterns, an awesome stamp set that you can earn by placing a $300.00 or more order.
There’s also the Designer Series Paper buy 3 get 4. From a select group of designer series papers you can pick 4 and only need to pay for 3.
Both of these promotions end on October 31st. Tick Tock dumplings, don’t miss out.
Finally I’m sure, well I hope, you’ve all seen the ah-mazing October Paper Pumpkin. It coordinates with the November Paper Pumpkin which you can still get if you subscribe by November 10th. In fact if you go to my online store you might be able to still get an October kit, but you need to hurry. The kits can stand alone, but if I were you I would try to get both. However if you can’t definitely subscribe to Paper Pumpkin and get the November kit.
Have a fantastic crafty weekend dumplings and I’ll see you on Monday.

I remove retired cardstock from my craft room as soon as it retires – but I’m never able to get rid of Designer Series Papers. As such, there are lots of papers with colors I can’t easily identify. ❤ Such a sweet card!

Thanks Brian, not only for liking my card but for the advice. Retired items and what to do with them has always been hard for me.
A cute card for a special reason! Great job Robbye ❤

Thanks so much Jackie. Teenagers have to endure so much just being teenagers. When you think about what he’s gone thru a card is such an easy thing to do.
