Happy Monday dumplings, if there is such a thing, lol. After a large hot cup of something caffeinated Mondays, while not my favorite day of the week, don’t seem as bad as when I woke up. Now on to today’s project. Miss Hammie thinks that by now all her dumplings have figured out she likes fun folds and this week we’re looking at Gate fold cards.
Today’s is a simple straight forward Gate fold. Let me take you thru the steps.
You begin with a piece of card stock that measures 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches.
Next you score that piece of card stock at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8. This will create a 2 1/8 section on both sides. Fold them toward the center and burnish your score lines.
Next cut two pieces of dsp to measure 4 x 1 7/8 inches and adhere them to the front of your card base on those 2 1/8 inch sections. These two sections are the two sides of your “gate”.
Now you need to create the “latch” that brings the two sides of your gate together. I used the 3 largest ovals in the Stitched Shapes framelits dies, layering them by size. I stamped my sentiment on the smallest oval.
For my card I used Old Olive card stock for my card base. I selected my dsp from the Quilted Christmas paper stack. My “latch” was made from Old Olive, Real Red and Whisper White card stock. My sentiment which was stamped in Real Red is from the Christmas Quilt stamp set. To add just a little extra touch I added a star from the Stitched Felt Embellishments.
I’m pleased with the way it turned out.
I wonder what type of Gate Fold Wednesday will hold?
Now it’s time to remind you that you only have until October 31st to take advantage of the Designer Series Paper Sale. You can purchase four packs of Designer Series Paper from a pre-selected group of paper packs for the price of three. Don’t let this deal end without getting in on it.
The Merry Patterns host stamp set promotion also ends on Oct. 31st. Place an order of $300.00 or more and get this awesome stamp set as a special gift from Stampin’ Up.
Starting tomorrow if you missed out on the October Paper Pumpkin kit, while supplies last you can order it. If you love a shaker card as much as I do you want this kit. While you’re ordering that great kit, don’t forget to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin by November 10th so you can get the coordinating kit. This one’s so awesome I can’t wait to see November’s kit.
Finally, if you like alcohol markers get ready for markers that were made to go with your Stampin’ Up products. Stampin’ Up is introducing new Stampin’ Blends and they’re doing it with a bang. The markers will be available for you to purchase on November 1st. However while that’s exciting news, the contest Stampin’ Up is having is phenomenal news. How does 101 winners sound? Unbelievable? Well Stampin’ Up is picking 101 lucky winners in their Stampin’ Blends contest. 100 winners will get a Stampin’ Blends duo in one of the 12 colors our Blends come in. The grand prize winner gets the complete set of Stampin’ Blends. Go to Stampin’ Up’s Facebook page for details and to leave a comment for a chance to be one of the lucky 101 winners.
Well that’s all until Wednesday, so TTFN
